Saariselka enlisted Rumur, the filmmaking and photography duo of Michael Galinsky and Suki Hawley (Malls Across America, Half-cocked, Battle For Brooklyn) to create the video for "Horizons", which documents the photo series that ended up being The Ground Our Sky's album art along with meditative scenes of everyday urban and rural life. Watch the entire video below.
“Into the wind” single and film
We are so excited to share with you our second single from our forthcoming album “The Ground Our Sky” with a Film by Dicky Bahto. The film stock is developed in herbs from his garden and creates a completely unique and mesmerizing surface texture interacting with the landscape and figurative images.
The song “Into The Wind” has the lyric where the album title originated:
Into the wind
We fly
the Ground Our Sky
All that breaks
We part
Our legs
Into the Wind
We hope you enjoy the journey!
“The Ground Our Sky” Album Announce & first Single “VOID”
Its been a long time coming, but are so excited to finally tell you all about our debut album! “The Ground Our Sky” will be released in collaboration with the awesome folks at Temporary Residence Ltd in October, but you can reserve your limited edition vinyl starting now!
If you’re one of those hard core fans that’s seen us since our very first shows in Oakland…. you might recognize the first single “VOID”. It’s one of our oldest songs, but has transformed over the years into our first single off of “The Ground Our Sky”! Ever had the feeling when boundaries melt, and you dissolve into spacetime around you? That’s the VOID. Some people may think its a dark place, but to us its a beautiful and soft pillow of light to drop in and hang out. ENJOY & Thanks for listening!
